We are seeing some “dead spots” in Juniper’s currently; what is going on? With all the rain we are getting, blight diseases and root rot are everywhere.
So, what do you do? You are not going to like the answer, but there is not a magic spray to fix this.
Of course, being on a Tree and Shrub program will help, but not in this case. What has to be done is pruning or replacement. Properly prune the dead, affected branch back to the stem. This will lead to some interesting shapes to your junipers, but the only other alternative is replacement of the plant.
In any case, it is important to maintain appropriate fertility, pest and disease management on all of your ornamental plantings. It is an investment you make in your landscape.
